Frankie95 Worldwide Choreography by Peter Strom and Ramona Staffeld
by Alain Wong
This is Peter Strom and Ramona Staffeld’s choreography to honor Frankie at his 95th birthday celebration in NYC, with help from Skye Humphries and Frida Segerdahl. The song used is Savoy by Lucky Millinder on the album “Apollo Jump”. Learn it if you are going to the event, and if you can’t make it, add a video response with you dancing to it. And do spread the word!!!
Check out Peter’s message about the video:
This is a choreography that Ramona and I created along with the help of Skye & Frida to honor Frankie at his 95th birthday celebration in NYC. It is comprised of mainly classic Frankie moves and choreography and the plan is to get lindyhoppers from all over the world to learn the choreography so that everyone who comes to the event can do it together at the same time, and everyone who isn’t able to make it can put up a clip on YouTube showing them doing the choreography as their gift to Frankie on his birthday.
The song is “Savoy” by Lucky Millinder and it can be found on the album “Apollo Jump”. There are two versions of “Savoy” by Lucky Millinder out there, and we are using the faster one, but if you wanna practice to the slower one, you can find it on the album “Back Beats”.
There are 2 parts to the choreography. The first part comes right after the intro, about 0:09 into the track - pretty obvious.. The second part comes way towards the end, the second time through the big chorus at about 3:03 - we start swingin out together on that last big chorus. In between the 2 choreography chunks we left it open for swingin out, social dancing, or any choreography you wanna put together and show off to the world. (FYI - we skip a bunch of the middle part of the song here in the video in the interest of keeping things short)

This is going to be great the more people we can get involved with it.
Definitely check out the choreography and film it if you can’t make Frankie95, it’s going to be killer… a killer diller.
